Demeter Fragrance Library: Log Cabin
The Comforting Draw of Intellect Over Egotism
Do you love sexy, smart, quiet guys?
Are you a sexy, smart, quiet guy?
All sexy, smart, quiet guys should be wearing this!
Log Cabin by Demeter really does smell like a log cabin.
Texas cedar is definitely the strongest note.
It's a campfire in the New Mexico forest.
This is what you can imagine Jarvis Cocker might have smelled like circa 2009, when he resurfaced as a cool dad with a full beard, black rimmed glasses with just a subtly unique retro line to the frame shape, bell bottomed pants, smart squared off dress shoes and velvet tailored jackets.
This fragrance feels like British racing green and chocolate brown, gold and brass finishes, leather bound books and walnut furniture. It’s Art Gum Eraser and pthalo blue paint—Bob Ross if you could admit that you find him sexy for being so artistic.
I find it horribly difficult to find much difference between most designer men's colognes—I feel like there are thousands of bottles, but only like 6 scents. This one is truly unique — even in the niche world where log cabin vibes have been done many times. There’s something especially realistic about Demeter’s concept, so that this fragrance leaves much less of a cologne-like impression, but rather leaves you with the sense that you’ve changed the scenery around you: you’re in a log cabin.
